If any of our readers should find themselves in Hanoi with a thirst for finely crafted beer, this writer highly recommends a visit to Pasteur Street Brewing Co. A reasonably priced flight will get you the following:
Jasmine IPA: light orange in color, yeasty, a hint of jasmine, weighing in at 50 IPUs, 6.5% ABV. A must-try!
Bia Chanh Muoi: their version of a shandy, sweet and salty, 2.2% ABV.
Passion Fruit Wheat Ale: wheaty with a hint of fruit, slightly cloudy.
Irish Stout: smooth, smoky, hint of chocolate, good mouthfeel.
Pale Ale: nothing special.
Pomelo: slightly fruity.
Jasmine Double: richer version of Jasmine IPA, weighing in at 100 IPUs, 8.5% ABV. Double your fun!
Advice: go for those highlighted in red.
Not included in the flight list above but definitely another must-try is the Cyclo, a hefty brew with chocolate notes, dark, of course, and a wonderful 13% ABV.
Pasteur Street’s homebase is Ho Chi Minh City.
